CRY FOR PRAYER AND SOLIDARITY
Lamka, June 24, 2016

300 DAYS OF PROTEST AND MOURNING
June 26, 2016 ( Sunday ) will mark the 300th day of the Tribal Movement, our unwavering fight for the protection of our ancestral tribal lands, our rights anf our identity from the covetous hands of the dominant valley-dwelling community who are jointly backed by the communal Manipur Government and CorCom, a conglomerate of proscribed Meitei Underground groups.
The resentment and gash between the Hills and valley become more stark with each passing day that belies the 'ching-tam amatani' rhetoric of the valley people, a clear indication that the tribal people of Manipur no longer see any safe and promising future under the present Manipur and look forward to a seperate destiny for the tribal people.
With the mortal remains of our nine Tribal Martyrs still awaiting and honourable burial, our fight for our rights, and our struggle for self-determination is far from over.
To mark the 300th day of our protest and mourning, the JAC would like to humbly request all manipur tribal churches and fellowships across the globe to observe it as a worldwide mourning day by organization mourning program-cum mass prayers at their respective church/congregation.
It is our heartfelt plea to all our tribal brothers and sisters from across the globe to join us in prayer on this day as we cry out to Lord our God to save and heal our ancestral lands.
At the epicentre of our Movement, Lamka, The Joint Action Committee Against-Tribal Bill ( JAC ) will be organizing a Mass Mourning-cum-Prayer program to be attended by tribal people from across Manipur starting from 1:00pm of June 26, 2016 at YPA General Headquaters Hall, Hiangtam Lamka, Lamka. There shall be no Shutdown or Bandh to enable free movement of vehicles on that day.
The JAC would also like to inform the public that the earlier plan to send a delegation to Delhi compring of tribal chiefs and family members of the Tribal Martyrs to coincide with the 300th Days of our Movement has been postponed for a later date.
