PRESS RELEASE
Lamka, June 30, 2016
The Joint Action Committee Against Anti-Tribal Bills (JAC) has learned that the Chavang Kut 2015 Committee has invited Pu Ginsuanhau, MLA of 60-Singngat Assembly Constituency to grace its ‘Chavang Kut 2015 Report’ program M. Songgel in Southern Outer Manipur on July 2, 2016 (Saturday) as Chief Guest.
The JAC would like to remind the Chavang Kut 2015 Committee that Pu Ginsuanhau was one of the tribal MLAs boycotted by the tribal people in Manipur through the JAC on September 12, 2015 for having betrayed their fellow tribals by being willing signatories to the three anti-tribals bills, placing the future of the tribals – their rights, land and identity – into the hands of the communal Manipur Government. And that the boycott still stands.
The tribal people will uphold the boycott and shall oppose the entry of the boycotted tribal MLAs into tribal territories. This shall serve as notice to all that the JAC is firm on its stand and shall not be responsible if any untoward incident arises; nor can anyone construe the same as an exercise with communal undertones.
