CONDOLENCE MESSAGE
29th June, 2016

The Zomi Re-Unification Organisation (ZRO) deeply condoled the untimely demise of a prominent revolutionary leader in Northeast India, Isak Chishi Swu, Chairman, NSCN(IM) on Tuesday, 28th June, 2016 at New Delhi. He steered the Naga movement for self-determination over three decades, and remain faithful for the cause till his last breath. His undaunted commitment for the emancipation of the Naga and deep concern  for the political survival of other indigenous people in Northeast India, particularly the tribals of Manipur (hill areas) is unparrel in the history of revolutionary movement in the region.

His death is undoubtedly a great loss for the Naga and other revolutionary organisation in Northeast region, yet he has displayed a personality and statemanship worthy to emulate for others. Unfortunately, Isak Chishi Swu is unable to see the honourable conclusion  of the peace process he have initiated with the Government of India since 1997 and the peaceful political resolution of Manipur tribals.

Although the vacuum created by his demise is hard to fill, we hope and pray that the Naga leaders stood firm in the cause he died for.

Our heartfelt condolences to the near and dear ones and all the Naga National Workers.

May his soul rest in peace.
