LAMKA, June-2 (PhualvaTimes) : Rupees 5,00,000 bounty has been placed on the head of a key JCILPS leader in charge of being a member of banned outfit United National Liberation Front in Manipur.
The Manipur Police Department announced today that it was offering a reward of up to Rs. 5 Lakhs for information leading to the arrest of Khomdram Ratan, who is the main accused behind a violent protest that erupted in the valley of Manipur.
The Manipur Police Department said the Convenor of Joint Committee of Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) Khomdram Ratan s/o (late) Khomdram Ibotombi of Singjamei Wangma Kshetri Leikai (Imphal West District) is a member of UNLF and indulged in prejudicial activities against the state, promoting social unrest and enmity among different groups of people living in Manipur in the recent past.
The bounty note obtained by PhualvaTimes states: ‘A cash reward of Rs. 5,00,000/- (Rupees five lakh) only is hereby announced through media for any individual who may provide information leading to the arrest of Khomdram Ratan’
"The individual is absconding and Imphal West District police are making all out efforts to arrest him at the earliest. Identity of the informant will be kept secret” said the police department statement.
It is believed that Manipur Police Department has now verified the authenticity of a widely circulated picture that purportedly shows the convener of JCILP Khomdram Ratan along with his members taking an oath administered by UNLF organisation secretary Nongyai on Wednesday.
